We are delighted to share an exceptional set of results from the newly released Tim Atkin South Africa Special Report 2026, with seven Zevenwacht wines earning scores of 92 points or higher.
Compiled annually by award-winning British wine journalist and Master of Wine Tim Atkin, the report is regarded as an important independent assessment of the South African wine industry. These results are therefore a meaningful recognition of the care taken in our vineyards and cellar, as well as the consistency achieved across our different wine collections.
Leading this year’s results is the 2025 Zevenwacht Z Collection Sauvignon Blanc, awarded an outstanding 94 points.
This latest score continues a strong run for our Z Collection Sauvignon Blanc. The 2023 vintage was previously selected for the FNB Sauvignon Blanc SA Top 10 and received a five-star rating in the 2025 Platter’s by Diners Club South African Wine Guide.
Made in limited volumes from carefully selected vineyards, the Z Collection Sauvignon Blanc offers a more layered and textural expression of the variety. Zevenwacht’s cool coastal influence helps to preserve freshness and natural acidity, while thoughtful cellar work brings greater depth and complexity to the wine.

While the 94-point Sauvignon Blanc takes the lead, the breadth of the results is particularly rewarding. The seven wines span white and red varieties, as well as two distinctive blends, with both our flagship Z Collection and The Tin Mine range represented.
For our winemaking and viticultural teams, this is an affirmation of a shared commitment: to produce wines that express their origins while offering the balance, character and longevity expected of Zevenwacht.
