Our Z Collection wines demonstrated their pedigree with the scores achieved in this report, as did The Tin Mine Red. A third of the top-scoring wines in Atkin’s 2022 SA Special Report are from Stellenbosch, reaffirming its position as the Cape’s pre-eminent wine region.
The Z Collection Syrah 2021 earned the highest score of 92 points with the Z Collection Sauvignon Blanc 2021 receiving 91 points. Both these wines are part of the new releases in this range.
Z Collection Reserve 2017, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet France, Petit Verdot and Malbec scored 90 points as did the Z Collection Chenin Blanc 2021, made from certified heritage old vines.
The Tin Mine Red 2020 also scored 90 points which is a pleasing result for this vintage as this complex wine intensifies over time, developing further concentration and richness.
