We are proud to announce that Zevenwacht Wine Estate has officially been recognised as a WWF Conservation Champion, joining a group of environmentally responsible wine farms committed to sustainable practices and biodiversity conservation.
This prestigious status reflects years of ongoing effort to restore and preserve our natural heritage. Zevenwacht has worked extensively to remove invasive plant species and rehabilitate endangered Renosterveld vegetation, allowing this unique and fragile ecosystem to thrive once more. As a proud member of the Bottelary Hills Renosterveld Conservancy, we take each step with intention to protect the land, preserve wildlife, and safeguard it for future generations.
Our sustainability journey extends across all aspects of the estate. From solar energy integration and responsible water management systems to ethical labour practices aligned with our journey to full WIETA certification, every initiative supports both environmental integrity and exceptional winemaking.
Zevenwacht is also home to an expanding bird population and operates a snare patrol programme that helps protect local wildlife. Our hiking and cycling trails provide more than just outdoor enjoyment—they offer an opportunity for visitors to become active participants in conservation. Trail users are encouraged to observe and report, helping us keep this landscape healthy, protected, and alive with natural wonder.
We invite you to explore Zevenwacht, where nature and nurture come together in harmony.
